Overview
Ladakh (meaning "land of high mountain passes") is a mountainous region in North India. Leh, the main city is situated at 3500m above sea level nestled in the great Himalayan, Karakoram, Zanskar and Ladakh ranges. Ladakh is known for remote mountain beauty, studded with monasteries and stupas. Get acclimatized in Leh, explore the magnetic wonders of Sham Valley, cross the world’s highest motorable pass to reach the enchanting Nubra Valley, and witness the ever-changing hues of Pangong Lake. Along the way, experience camel rides on sand dunes, discover sacred Buddhist sites, and soak in panoramic mountain views that will stay with you forever.
Tour Highlights
Arrival at Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (This must be one of the Most Sensational Flights in the World. On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif.) Upon arrival, you will meet by our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check-in. Complete the day for rest and leisure to acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel. Evening visit Shanti Stupa. Later visit the market (stay for 01hour only). Return back to the hotel / Guest house for an Overnight stay.
After breakfast, you drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh to Kargil Highway. And start our sightseeing with the Hall of Fame Museum Constructed by the Indian Army near Leh is worth a visit for every Indian, and proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, A drive of another 4 km took us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity and further Driving through a picturesque landscape we reached the Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River. After visiting the above places, we drive back to Leh enroot to visit Spituk Monastery, Built in the 15th century during the reign of Grags bum lde, these new Gelug-pa monastery was built like a fortress on the summit of crags. Later return back to Leh. The rest of the day is free on my own
Post breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motor Able Road in The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus Valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the Valley of Flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Upon arrival in Nubra, we check in at our Camp / Hotel in Hunder for an Overnight stay. In the evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. A visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged. Overnight Stay at the Camp or Hotel.
After breakfast at camp/hotel we drive to next destination Pangong Lake (situated at 14, 500 ft above sea level) via Shayok and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik (Pangong). It’s a short cut and it's a beautiful route. The road follows the Shayok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It takes less than an hour to reach Shayok, and you will be delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong Lake and enjoy your day at Pangong Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in camp .
Get up early morning to witness the sunrise view at the lake. Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Leh via Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs. Arrive Leh and check in at the hotel. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel.
Tour concludes. Thank you for your patronage. Transfer to Leh Airport to catch the flight to your onward Destination.
