Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Upon arrival at Paro Airport, head to the immigration office for your travel permit. Then, get driven to your hotel in Thimphu. Check in & spend the day at your leisure. You can visit places like the Royal Botanical Garden & the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, housing the Bhutanese arts & crafts. Also, visit Zilukha Anim Dratshang & learn about the nuns' lifestyles & experiences through interactive sessions. Later, return to the hotel on your own for an overnight stay.
Today, get transferred to explore Thimphu. Visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in honour of Bhutan’s third king. Next, visit Tashichho Dzong, a fortress monastery that serves as Bhutan’s government’s seat. Continue to Simtokha Dzong & also witness the Buddha Dordenma statue. Head to the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's national animal, the takin. Conclude your tour at the Handicrafts Market before getting driven to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After checking out of your hotel, you'll be driven to Nubding. En route stop at Dochula Pass & the historic Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, admired for its architecture. Upon arrival in Nubding, check in to your hotel and later embark on a sightseeing tour of Gangtey. Explore the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, famous for its beautiful landscapes and the winter home of the endangered blacknecked cranes. After visiting other such attractions, get transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After checking out of your hotel, you'll be transferred to Punakha. Upon arrival, check in and relax for a while. Later, get driven to explore Punakha. Start by visiting Punakha Dzong, a fortress located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, renowned for its architecture. Next, visit Chimi Lhakhang Temple, famously known as the Fertility Temple. Afterward, admire the serene beauty of the Mo Chhu River before getting driven to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After checking out of your hotel, you'll be driven to Paro. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and then embark on a sightseeing tour of Paro. Start with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples. Next, explore the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a historic fortress that offers views of the Paro Valley. Continue to the base of Mount Jhomolhari, Bhutan’s second-highest peak, revered as a sacred site. Later, get driven to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Today, you'll be driven to Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum of Bhutan. Next, explore the Rinpung Dzong, renowned for its impressive architecture. Afterward, proceed to Satsam Chencho Tshongkhang, the starting point for a scenic hike to the Taktsang Monastery, or Tiger’s Nest. Trek through lush pine forests, soaking in the surrounding views before reaching the monastery to explore the sacred site. Later, get transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Today, check out of the hotel and get transferred to the Paro International Airport to board your flight for the onward journey. This is where your trip comes to an end.
